Careers.
MSR employs its own welders, fabricators and erectors — direct, not agency.
MSR's welders and erectors work on live rail possessions, tunnelling programmes and marine repairs, not just standard portal frames. The team is directly employed, not agency-sourced, and works out of two factories in Bootle that have been fabricating steel since 1987.
Trades we employ
The disciplines behind the work.
Welder / Fabricator
Structural, architectural and marine welding — MMA, MIG/MAG and TIG — cutting and building steel to fabrication drawings.
Steel Erector
Site erection crews, including night-possession work on live rail lines — see how that works on the Meols Station project.
CNC / Plasma Cutting Operator
Profile cutting mild steel, stainless and aluminium to DXF/DWG drawings for structural and architectural work.
Plater
Marking out, forming and assembling plate and structural steel ahead of welding.
Site Supervisor
Running erection sequences and site teams on live sites, including rail possessions and tunnelling programmes.
What MSR offers
- Direct employment — MSR employs its own welders and erectors, not agency labour.
- Real variety: rail, tunnelling, marine and architectural work, not the same portal frame on repeat.
- Two factories in Bootle, working on projects across the UK and Ireland.
- A family-run company — three tradesmen started it in 1987, and it’s still run that way.
